The name that children and schools trust is now legally protected. Discover how LESA’s newly registered trademark secures its future growth in Iceland and paves the way for international expansion.

The name that children will come to know for years to come is now legally protected. The wordmark "Lesa" is a registered trademark, and no one else may use a comparable mark for the same kind of service in this country.
For a product built on the trust of parents and schools, the name matters. It is the asset that follows LESA wherever the product goes. The registration grants exclusive rights to the name within its field, providing the means to defend it if necessary.
Registration in Iceland is also the first step toward international protection. LESA is designed for the Icelandic market to begin with, but the goal is set on foreign markets in phases. The Icelandic registration forms the foundation upon which international registration will be built.
The trademark is registered with the Icelandic Intellectual Property Office under the number V0138721. The registration took effect on May 18, 2026, and is valid until May 27, 2035. It covers Class 41: publication of digital and printed material and production of educational material and videos, the field in which LESA operates. The validity period extends to 2035, as we are not building LESA for the short term.
"The name that children know is now protected," says Birgir Hrafn Birgisson, founder and CEO of Revera. "We are building LESA for the long term, and a registered trademark is part of that foundation."
The registration certificate has been received from the Icelandic Intellectual Property Office.
